Social Coordinators

The Society has previously supported College in delivering the annual reunion and occasional social meet ups.   Historically, these meetings have been in London and mostly arranged around other related activities.

While these meet ups are generally well received, they are few and far between.    As part of our current strategy, the Society is working with College to experiment with expanding these events.

We've identified a few cities where we believe there is a concentration of alumni.  In addition to London, we're looking at:  Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds and Birmingham.

We are seeking Coordinators to help us with the running of these events – specifically, selecting a venue, working with the Society and College to advertise the events, acting as a host on the day and providing feedback afterwards.

Guidelines
-  These meetings are intended to be open to all generations of alumni, and to act as an opportunity to share a story or two about your time at college.
-  We are hoping these events might be held outside of term times, to allow current students to also attend.
-  While we would expect these events to be an informal gathering in a pub/cafe twice a year, we're open to suggestions on venue, format and frequency.
-  We're hoping to start modestly, but if these events get more popular we can look at adding a small cover charge, or providing financial support from the Society.
-  As the coordinator we'd ask that you provide some feedback in the form of a short write up / photo which we can use to promote similar meetings.

If you live or work in one of these locations, and would be willing to help coordinate these meetings, please contact the society on durhamcastlesociety@gmail.com
